Medieval market at Rabenstein Castle

(May 30 - Jun 2 2024 and August 2-4 2024; get your tickets)

Twice a year, visitors to Rabenstein Castle embark on an exciting journey back in time to the Middle Ages. There is an extensive program of action artists and jugglers with juggling, medieval field battles and show fights, puppet shows for the children and a big fire show in the evening at nightfall.

Historical groups from all over Germany set up camp against the backdrop of the 800-year-old castle, while traders and craftsmen such as blacksmiths, wood turners, bathers, basket weavers, pewterers, spoon carvers and many others provide an insight into long-extinct professions of the Middle Ages. Of course, children and adults can also try their hand at these crafts themselves, e.g. felting, forging and wood carving.

A special attraction for young and old alike are the archery tournaments, where market visitors can prove themselves in archery. Music is provided by various medieval groups. The market is opened by the market master at 12:00 on the first day of the market.

The 2024 Medieval Markets will take place from May 30 - June 2 and August 2 - 4.
