An incomparable ambience for the festival
Located just 20 km south of Bayreuth, Hotel Burg Rabenstein offers Bayreuth festival guests the opportunity to spend the night in princely style in unique surroundings. After your journey through the picturesque landscape of Franconian Switzerland, the 800-year-old castle welcomes you within its time-honored walls. Inspiration and comfort surround you in the 22 spacious rooms and suites in exquisite individual castle style. Burg Rabenstein impresses and enchants with its rustic medieval knights' halls and elegant, castle-like ambience on the Beletage. In the fireside lounge, every opera evening comes to a stylish and cozy end with a fine drop of wine in front of an open fire.
You can reach Bayreuth via the highway A 9 or the St 2185 in about 20-30 minutes. A cab can be booked through the hotel. Burg Rabenstein also has its own helipad. A helicopter transfer from Nuremberg Airport can be organized by the hotel.
In 1830, when the castle was owned by the Counts of Schönborn, King Ludwig I came to visit with his wife. Follow in his footsteps and be amazed by the splendor of the castle and the surrounding natural paradise. Explore the castle and the nearby Sophie's Cave - one of the most beautiful stalactite caves in southern Germany - on expert guided tours, experience a unique flight demonstration in the adjoining falconry with its large owl and bird of prey park and take beautiful walks through the rugged Ailsbach valley or across the wide meadows of the high plateau, on the edge of which the castle is situated on a high spur.
